Aaron Marshbanks
May 3, 1977 - November 2, 2022
Aaron Marshbanks strived to honor God by living a remarkable life. He was born May 3, 1977 in Lincoln, NE to Dennis and Patricia (Vercellino) Marshbanks and went home to heaven November 2, 2022. What Aaron chose to do with his 45 years was genuinely remarkable. One could create a lengthy list of Aaron's accomplishments, the many "successful" things he did, but that wasn't the goal of Aaron's life. Instead, his "success" centered around knowing God and loving people.
Aaron's favorite thing to do was invest in those around him and he found great purpose in life from helping those God put in his path. Anyone who spent any amount of time with Aaron heard him say, "Meaningful work, meaningful relationships" more times than can be counted. His focus in every meeting was genuinely knowing and caring for who he was with more than what they were accomplishing. Every conversation with Aaron ended with him asking, "What can I be doing to help you?"
Aaron had a deep appreciation for authenticity, really seeking to go deep with people. He was always looking for the potential in someone and constantly sought to draw it out. He mentored and invested in more people than can be counted. Aaron was unbelievably generous and quick to meet a need, often anonymously. He loved to laugh; a deep belly laugh that was contagious. He appreciated great food and drink and friends to share it with. Aaron refused to settle, constantly striving. He lived with grit, making the most of his time, treasure, and talent.
Second only to Aaron's love for God was his fierce love for his family. After Aaron's first date with the love of his life at age 15, he went home and wrote "I will marry Jenn" on a sticky note and stuck it to the back of his mirror. Nine years later, Aaron married Jenn in 2000. Aaron had two amazing sons of whom he was incredibly proud, Easton and Cade. He has taken them on annual father-son trips their whole lives to do many memorable things. Those trips are lifetime highlights for each of them. Aaron marveled at the men they are becoming. Aaron also had two precious daughters who had him completely wrapped around every finger. He adored them and they loved going on "Daddy-dates", watching "Shaun the Sheep" together and sharing amazing hugs.
Aaron loved to travel, especially with his family. The family's favorite memory is a three month trip they took to Costa Rica in which the focus was to spend quality time together and enjoy "Pura Vida". It was spectacular. Aaron often said that he lived a full, amazing life.
Those left to miss Aaron are: the love of his life, Jenn; his sons, Easton and Cade; precious daughters, Hope and Saige; parents, who unconditionally loved him so well; sister, Amanda; parents-in-law, David and Barbara Smith; brother-in-law, Mark (Matt) Smith; sisters-in-law, Kim Smith, Tracey (KC) Rittscher; Aaron was blessed by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials may be given to the family for future designation. In true Aaron fashion, we will be having a "Celebration of Life". Please visit this link: https://tinyurl.com/marshbanks
