David K. Jones, 92, of Lincoln, passed away August 6, 2025.

Born May 3, 1933, in Lincoln, NE to Knox and Virginia (Bowen) Jones, Dave graduated from Lincoln High School where he later was inducted into the Lincoln High Athletic Hall of Fame. He went onto graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he was affiliated with the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Following graduation, he served in the Marine Corps for 2 ½ years. He was employed at Schwartz Paper Company for 39 years spending the last 20 years as president and general manager.

Dave was interested in all athletics, particularly golf, where he served on the boards of the Nebraska Golf Association and Nebraska Golf Hall of Fame. He coached little league baseball and little fry basketball and was a lifetime member of the Eastern Nebraska Officials Association working many years as a football official for high school and small colleges.

He was a past board member of the Country Club of Lincoln, the Downtown Lincoln Lions Club, past president of the Heart of America Paper Association, and a proud member of the One Eared Elephants.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Knox and Virginia; brothers, Hobart "Hobe" and J. Knox, Jr.; and his first wife, Zoe.

Survived by his loving wife, Barbara; daughter, Kimberly (Randy Stone) Norton; sons, Knox (Julie) Jones, David "Deac" (Amy) Jones, and Patrick Jones; stepchildren, Angela Roberts and Scott (Jessica Golden) Lippstreu; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
