Michael H. Rifken

BURLINGTON - Michael H. Rifken, 77, of Burlington, passed away Friday, January 30, 3015 at Burlington Health & Rehab. Born in California on May 15, 1937, he was the son of Samuel and Minnette (nee Ratzer) Rifken. After graduating from high school Mike enlisted in the Army, where he proudly served his country. Following his years in the military he went to college getting a degree in history. He then moved to Connecticut where he received a Master’s Degree in History, while teaching. He loved history, working with kids and getting them excited about learning and fixing things. With that passion he started his own business fixing AV equipment and computers for a large range of schools. On August 16, 1975 Mike was united in marriage to Margaret Waddell. They moved to Burlington in 1978. He is survived by his wife, Peg and by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
