Thomas Stonehouse Obituary

MANITOWISH WATERS - Thomas “Tom” G. Stonehouse, age 87 of Manitowish Waters, WI died on Wednesday, November 29th at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander, WI. Tom was born on August 1, 1930 in Racine, WI the son of Kenneth and Catherine (nee Klinkhammer) Stonehouse. Tom graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1948 and after graduation attended and graduated from Michigan State University in 1952 and then went to work at J.I. Case in Racine. He oversaw all the technical publications for international J.I. Case in his 37 years with the company. He retired to Manitowish Waters in 1990, where he enjoyed 28 years in the place in loved. He was an avid biker and skier, meeting many wonderful friends who shared the love of the outdoors. In retirement he discovered a new talent in woodworking. This talent had him in his work shop making many useful pieces of furniture and other items for his family. Tom is survived by his wife of 65 years; Pat (nee Luxem) Stonehouse and was a loving father to; Jayne (Chris) Lehnert, Jeff (Kathy), Jon (Debbie) and Jamie (Amy) and much loved Grandchildren; Amanda (Natasha), Christopher (Lori), Maggie (Justin), Lauren (Mike), Anna, Sam, Caroline, Ian and Tom and by 3 Great Grandchildren; Claire, Lydia and Jaxson. Celebration of Life for Tom will be held on Saturday, December 16th at Little Bohemia Lodge in Manitowish Waters, WI from 11:00 AM till 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Frank B. Koller Library, PO Box 100, Manitowish Waters, WI 54545 or HYF-Dr. Kate Hospice, PO Box 770, Woodruff, WI 54568. Family extends a special thank you to the Nurses and Administration at Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander for their professional care and services. I REMBER HOW EXCITED YOU BOTH WERE TO GET YOUR 15 FT SEASPRITE AND 85HP JONNSON FROM ME I BELIEVE YOU HAD A HOUSE ON WILLIAM ST OR MELVIN AND TOM WOULD WALK TO AND FROM JI CASE ON STATE ST AND WOULD STOP AND TALK BOATS. YOU WERE WITH HIM WHEN HE BOUGHT THAT BOAT. HOW EXCITED YOU BOTH WERE!!! YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY HAVE MY SINCER SYMPATHY ON YOUR LOSS
