Barbara Cathryn Zillmer

1926 - 2014

Zillmer, Barbara Cathryn (nee Hembrook ) Age 87, was born to eternal life January 27, 2014, surrounded by loved ones. Barbara was preceded in death by beloved husband Arthur and dear sister Shirley Kynaston. Barbara was born on November 1, 1926 to Walter and Alice Hembrook. She was raised in Wauwatosa. Barbara is the proud mother of Claire (George) Odishoo, Denise (Thomas) Nelson, Michael Zillmer and Matthew (Susan) Zillmer, devoted grandmother of Jonathan (Daphne) Odishoo, Christine Odishoo, Nancy Nelson and Eric (Brittany) Nelson, and loving great-grandmother of Samuel and Jesse Odishoo and Camila Nelson. Also survived by dear sister-in-law Helen Fritz, cherished cousin Mary Ann Wydell, nieces, nephews and special friends. Barbara and Art owned the Times Candid wedding photography business for decades. Barbara enjoyed reading, fishing, boating and other outdoor activities with her family. She was known for her intelligence, humor and quick wit. Her closest friends were the book club and bridge club ladies whose company she treasured. Daughter Denise and her husband Tom lovingly cared for Barbara in their home as Barbara's health gradually failed in recent years. The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice's home care team for their compassion and support. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. Private inurnment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
