To Damon's Loved Ones:
I met Damon a few months ago at what we discovered is OUR favorite Chinese restaurant. We enjoyed lunch together on a few occasions and more often, inadvertently ran into each other. I will always remember his smile. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially his mom and daughter, he spoke highly of you both.
God Bless!

To Damon's family-
I am very sorry about Damon's passing. It was way too early. I played basketball against Damon at the Y and alumni and he was always a stand up guy. I hope you find peace and know that Damon is looking down on all of you. God Bless you.

To all of Damon's family and family of friends--this is from a Hopi prayer that I received after my father passed. I hope it gives you comfort:
"Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled light. I am the soft stars that shine at night." May God bless you and comfort you!

I didn't know Damon but come to find out my boyfriend(Damon Jackson) did. He had always told me stories of him and his childhood best friend Damon growing up and hanging out together, they would ride bikes and walk to 53rd Street School together. He also said that Damon was very spoiled he was the only child.:-) Although they hadn't seen each other in years Damon had never forgotten him and had always called him his friend.
I did however know his mother Pat.She was the first woman I got to know at Parklawn Assembly. She use to teach this small class on Sunday mornings about Jesus.
Our heart and prayers goes out to Pat and family may God comfort you give you peace and understanding.

Sister Pat,
No, a mother cannot forget the baby that was once at her breast, and have no compassion; but neither can God; and just like you gave years of comfort to your child; so will God comfort you in your time of need. He has not left you comfortless; he has generously given you 36 years for times such as these; to hold and cherish as memories in your heart.
May the Lord strengthen you with his power, and may you continue to love those your son left behind.
God Bless you and keep you, my sister!
Love,
Your Sister-in-Christ,
Brenda Woods
