Donna Mae Schmitz

Schmitz, Donna Mae (Nee Pomeranski) Of New Berlin, died on Thurs., Sept. 22, 2011, at the age of 75. On Oct. 29, 1955, she married Cyril W. Schmitz and together they raised ten children. They resided in Waukesha where Donna made wedding and special occasion cakes. She was referred by many as the "Cake Lady". Dear mother of Joseph (Cheryl) Schmitz, Mary Schmitz, Susan (Mark) Smokowicz, Nancy (Jerry) Hanson, Anita Pirc, Jean (Dan) Schulthess, John Schmitz, Michael Schmitz, Paul (Nicole) Schmitz and Steven Schmitz. Fond grandmother of 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with one expected in January. Beloved sister to Connie (Fran) Rheinhart and Bonnie (Bob) Bacholls, sister-in-law to Muriel Larson, and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Cyril, her parents Edward and Sylvia Pomeranski, and her brother Ronnie. Visitation Fri., Sept. 30, 2011, from 4:00 until 7:00PM with a rosary service at 7:00PM at the funeral home. Services continue on Sat. Oct. 1, with prayers at the funeral home beginning at 10:15AM followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 for the 11:00AM Funeral Mass.
