I met Duane for the first time just a bit more than one year ago. It was inspiring for me to see Duane do all he could to fight the Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. While he struggled at times to communicate his thoughts, he was very determined and most of the time found a way to get his point across. Though I knew Duane just one of his 71 years, I grew quite fond of him and will truly miss him.
