Eli Hayes Obituary
Shorewood - Passed away May 23, 2020 at the age of 26. Beloved son of Leslie Hayes (nee Fishman) and the late Jeffrey Hayes. Dear brother of Zachary Hayes. Further survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
Eli received his undergraduate degree from Ithaca College in NY majoring in creative writing and psychology. He then earned a master's degree in film from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.
Eli was well known for his love of film and the art of making them. He was responsible for online film festivals and film reviews and was truly an inspiration to film makers across the globe. He will be missed by the film community, film festivals and film creators.

My deepest condolences to Elis family. Eli was an incredible friend. Meeting him in Cannes in 2014 is still one of the best times in my life. I remember the night I met him, I had seen his film earlier that day and remembered his name when he introduced himself. I was so excited to meet him because I loved his film, and he was so happy to hear someone had watched it haha. We then became the closest of friends along with our third leg of the tripod Alecia. The three of us were attached at the hip for the rest of the trip. Eli is truly one of the most delightful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He made me laugh harder than anyone. Over the years since Cannes we would meet up whenever possible at film festivals or on his trips to New York. The last of which we actually worked on a film together (a dream of ours since Cannes). While it is devastating to know that we wont have any more of these visits in this lifetime Im happy for the memories we have recorded on film that will last forever. Love you Eli ❤

So sad. I was a facebook friend on film message boards. I always enjoyed Eli's enthusiastic posts on films. He will be missed by many. Deepest sympathy.
