Evan Solie Obituary

Solie, Evan Robert Of Elm Grove. Passed away May 31, 2017, at the age of 18. Beloved son of Carl and Cyndi Solie. Loving brother of Erik. Cherished nephew of Dave (Denise) Solie, Paul Solie, Ned (Peggy) Nagy and Jim (Kathy) Hall. Dear cousin of Crystal (Lindsay) Solie, David (Molly) Solie, Jenny (Kurt) Smart, Joanna (Devin) Knak. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gerald (Marilyn) Solie, maternal grandparents, Dennis Hill and Jane Fritz, and Aunt Ann Nagy. Evan graduated from Brookfield East in 2016 and just completed his first semester at UWM. Evan was involved with Boy Scout Troop 156 and cross country at Brookfield East. Evan loved all types of music, especially EDM, played piano and the ukulele. He enjoyed all motorsports and trips to the Indy 500 with his dad. Evan was a kind and caring friend, with a giant heart, who always put others ahead of himself. His smile could light up a room and brought happiness and laughter to all who knew him. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 8, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, June 9 from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Evan's name to Martin Luther Church (9325 W. Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee 53226). "He was his father's son and his mother's joy."

Not sure what to say?

Hi Carl, Cyndi, and Erik,

I wanted to let you all know we are nearly just around the corner from all of you and you're all welcome anytime to stop by and talk, pray, eat, whatever you need.
I've been trying to remember the last time I saw Evan. I think it might have been early on a Sunday morning at the Subway shop in Elm Grove, I did not recognize him at first as he was dressed for work behind the counter. Evan did recognize me and said "Hello Mr. Profio". We talked for a bit. I think he opened the store that morning by himself. I remember thinking how respectful Evan was toward me, and how I wished I'd hear more of that from folks his age.
The other time I remember seeing Evan was at the Elm Grove library on a Saturday morning. We were working on something for Scouts, I think it was some prep work or review for the Personal Management Merit badge. I remember thinking Evan was always trying to do well and he took my feedback without question and quite positively.
The last memory I have happened during Matt's graduation party. Carl, I think you came with Evan and I recall being so pleased you both came and what a good time we all had.
I can't fathom what you are all going through. I just hope and pray the good Lord helps you find peace.

Take precious care,
Mark Profio

I am only a year younger than he was, but he was a true friend of mine. Him and I would run in the same group in cross country, we went through so many long meets and practices together. He always knew what to say to make you happier. I never thought he would be one to fall victim to this, but he was always up to try something new... I can't believe this has happened, I will always remember him, and I will stay inspired by his footsteps at BEHS. I will miss him dearly.

We watched Evan grow up in our neighborhood on Wrayburn. He grew from a curious and active boy to a busy young man before us all. He will be missed, we were honored to have shared our lives and neighborhood with him and he will always be part of our memories. Our deepest condolences go out to Carl and Cindy, as well as Erik and the rest of his loving family.
Praying that you have hope and peace during this painful time,
Rock, Brenda, Shaun Aaron and Joseph Shields
