Dear Bieck Family
Today I heard of Jerry's passing. I was greatly saddened. I have not seen him for many years, but remember him from Memorial church. I was alot closer to Kenny. I knew the whole family. Jerry was always that "older" brother of one my friends. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and God Bless.
Love,

Dear Dolly, Greg, Cheryl, and Sandy. I am truly saddened to hear of the loss of Jerry. Please know your family is in my prayers. Jerry was one of the most wonderful people I have known. His love of his family and his Lord and Savior were models for anyone that knew him. He truly made a difference in this world. May God be with you and comfort you all during these days.

Dear Dolly and family,
I just wanted to tell you what a
positive impact Jerry had on my life. He unselfishly helped me at a
critical point, and I will always
be grateful. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you.

I'm not sure if you will even remember me, but I was Greg's babysitter when you lived on South 77th Street in Milwaukee. Greg was just a tot but I loved all of you and cried when you moved to New Berlin. I felt so much like a part of your family and Greg felt like a part of mine. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please know that people care. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

My family and I were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of a wonderful husband, father and friend. I grew up with Greg at Our Lord's and even though I was a couple of years older than Greg, Jerry always made me feel welcome in all the youth functions that were held. He was such a funny and terrific teacher and mentor to all of us. He will be deeply missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My family and I are saddened by the loss of a wonderful husband, father, and friend. I grew up up at Our Lord's with Greg and even though I was a couple of years older than Greg, Jerry always made me feel welcome and included in any of the events the youth did together. He is fondly remembered. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Dolly and family and friends,It was fall of 1966 and I was playing intramural football one day at the University of Wisconsin. Most of us were just goofing around but not a certain "Golden Boy",with lots of chest hair, chiseled features, and an easy smile. I became his friend and in the ensuing years did everything with him.My basement has hundreds of pictures on the wall rather than being hidden in an album. Few people appear more than Jerry.Spring break in Daytona Beach, his wedding, my wedding, tailgating at County Stadium(before they built Miller Park for you non-Milwaukeeans),with Dolly,Ken,Marcel, our great mutual friend Al Kult(who Jerry was kind enough to introduce me to and with whom the 3 of us did everything including hundreds of rounds of golf--more about Al,Jerry, Marcel and I later--),no wait...I'll tell you now.It was Jerry's idea to compete in about 1984 in the Journal's Sno Bowl Golf tournament which consisted of hitting a yellow tennis ball on the Brown Deer golf course in the middle of February. Not very smart but a lot of fun for 4 guys. I believe one year Jerry even won and his name was in the paper then too.Anyway back to my basement. There are pictures of Dolly and the afore-mentioned folks at a Wisconsin football game where we went every Homecoming(and where and when I proposed to my wife, Julie). There are pictures of Ken, Jerry and me at our good friend Pat Calvano's wedding by whom I had repaid my debt to Jerry by introducing them to each other. There are pictures of us when Jerry first bought his house;pictures when we first built our house and in response to asking Jerry and Al how to plant a tree sent me a sketch of a stick figure labeled "Bob" and a stick tree with the helpful directions of"This way down"!And so many more.I gave Jerry his first job out of college running an apartment complex in Madison as my assistant manager as well as hiring his brother,Kenny, as our "assistant assistant manager".They repaid the favor becoming one of my first clients eight years later in 1980. It was Jerry's good friend, college roommate and English mentor, Dave McIntosh, who you can blame for this non-traditional eulogy. But it's what Jerry would have wanted me to say if I had been able to join you on Tuesday. He would have wanted me to tell you stories like these because he did what many of us don't do as well as we might--enjoy the gift of life. And if occasionally we falter along the way,I believe that all God asks is that we try. And let it be known by all, true to his family's values, his faith, his UW gymnastic team mentality, my good and great friend,Jerry, always tried. All those people in those pictures, and many, many more will miss you.

Dear Bieck Family,
I remember your huband and father fondly as our Sunday School teacher at Our Lord's Church. He was a very caring person with a great sense of humor. He always had a kind word and smile for everyone. Our family was saddened to hear of his passing.

Hi there! It has been my incredible privilege and pleasure to meet and grow to love and appreciate Jerry! His love for God and people was the motivating force in his life! Sharing these last couple years with him has raised the level of my own faith and challenged me in ways that I am still discovering! He was able to express gratitude for the way his illness enabled him to more fully experience God in his daily life. His faith story is powerful and touched many persons in ways that transformed their lives. I will daily thank God for allowing me to call Jerry my friend! I will never be the same! I'm praying every day for Dolly and the family! God bless you a lot and lots of others through you! I love you a lot!
