John Bernhardt Bach

1932 - 2014

Bach, John Bernhardt 82, entered into his eternal life on July 24, 2014. He was born on January 2, 1932 as the only son to Oswald and Thirza (Harrison) Bach. John grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated in 1951 from Rufus King High School. In 1952 he joined the 43rd Infantry Division of the United States Army and served the 192nd Field Artillery Battalion in Germany during the Korean War. John later returned to Milwaukee and worked as a police officer in the Fifth District beginning in 1957. He retired in 1992 after 37 years on the force. John is a member of Henry L. Palmer Masonic Lodge #301 F & AM of Wisconsin John was preceded in death by his parents Oswald and Thirza, his older sisters Lorna McCanna and Ellen Savasta, his younger sister Margery Bach, his first wife Vietta Bach and his daughter Lori Bach. He is survived by his sister Carol Schneider of Menomonee Falls, WI; his son Michael (Julie) Bach of Mequon, WI; Christopher Bach of Milwaukee, WI; Curtis (Kara) Bach of Whitefish bay, WI; and Mary (Al) Stick of Oconomowoc, WI. John is the loving grandfather of Jessica, Tricia, Matthew, Ciara, Lauren, Alexis, Izabella, Sophia, Joshua, Amanda, Matt, and Sarah; and also great-grandfather to Hannah, Noah, and Elijah. John is further survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John was an amazing artist, enjoyed great-music and old-time movies with a particular fondness for Doris Day, He loved the outdoors especially fishing, landscaping and gardening, and was a devoted father to all his children. He always appreciated a good baseball game, John was known to participate in casual leagues throughout the years that he spent serving his country and his community. He was a passionate fan of both the Brewers and the Packers and often adorned their apparel, regardless of the season. John also relished the loyal companionship of his pets throughout his years; Cindy, Putzi, Napper, Luna and Barney. Visitation Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of The Chimes 13235 W. Capitol Drive Brookfield, WI from 11:00 AM until time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
