Dear Mary Ann, John was my baseball coach in the Recreation baseball league played behind the old gym. He was a great guy and made a very positive impression on me when I was young and needed role models. My sympathy goes out to you at your loss.

I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with John at Cedarburg State Bank. I left there in 1999 when it was Firstar Bank. I was in the teller area. The last time I saw him was at one of Mel's Pig Roasts. We spoke for a short time and caught up on what was happening in our lives. My husband actually came home and told me of his passing. They must have known some of the same people also. A nice man!
You have our Deepest Sympathy

To Mary Ann and all of John's family, My deepest sympathy to all of you. I am sorry for your loss. You do not know me, but I met John back in the early 80's when my husband and I bought our first home. He was our banker. He advised and watched out for us, and I trusted his advice. It's important to note he was trustworthy, and I was so grateful! On the day of the closing, I brought him a chocolate cake. He was so surprised, and from that day on, whenever my husband or I saw him, he remembered us, and the cake! I loved the fact that he remembered. God bless you all, Shellie & Jeff Olson

Dear Mary Ann,
I was a high school classmate of John's. On the occasions when we, as a class, were thrown together by alphabet, we would recount stories of our families and often share a laugh. John was a warm gentle young man and it is obvious he remained that way.
I wish you and your family my sincere condolences and hope that you believe that, for John, life is only changed and not taken away. Ron Santilli

Dear Mary Ann:
I'm so sorry for your loss. As you know John meant a lot to me, as a coach and as a friend. He was always supportive and gave me encouragement whenever I ran into him. John loved St. Robert and Shorewood and the era he grew up in and talking to him about those days was also fun.
Part of John's charm was remembering the past and I always felt good after seeing him or talking to him.
I know you two had a wonderful life together and that he loved you very much.
You have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Mary Ann,
I was so sorry to hear about John. He was my coach at St Robert. In 1967, he led us to 3rd place in the Gesu (now Padre Serra)Catholic School basketball tournament. (His 1968 team took 1st place). In baseball, he led our 1967 team to win the championship of the Northshore Catholic League . He was a great coach who loved helping kids through sports and kept in touch with many of his players over 40 years later.
I know from my chats with John in recent years that he loved you deeply and knew that you were the best gift God ever gave him.
With sympathy and prayers for John and you,
Jim Linn
