Joseph Kirkish Obituary

Kirkish, Joseph G. Born to Eternal Life May 3, 2009, age 91 years. Beloved husband of Katherine (nee Muench). Dear father of Doug (Mary Jo), Greg (Barb), Annette (Thomas) Mayer and Stephen Kirkish. Loving grandfather of Angela and Joseph Kirkish, Melissa (Joe) Braun, Jonathan and Kristin Kirkish, Lauren and Jacob Mayer. Brother-in-law of Donald Muench and Dolores Dorn. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joseph was an Army veteran of WWII, where he served in the 32nd Division in the South Pacific. He retired from the US Postal Service after 39 years of service. Joseph was an active man of faith both at St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Margaret Mary Parishes. He gave of himself in his retirement years, volunteering his time to the Knights of Columbus, The American Legion and Interfaith. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, May 7, 12 noon at St. Margaret Mary Church, corner of 92nd and Capitol Dr. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Thursday at the Church from 10AM until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Interfaith Older Adult Programs, 600 W.
