Marie Slagle

1928 - 2017

Slagle, Marie 4/21/1928 - 9/30/2017 Marie was born in Gresham, WI to Swiss immigrants Johanna & Ferdinand Studach. With 5 siblings (Johanna, Rose, John, Caroline & Fred) she learned early that family was the most important thing in life. She met and married Don Slagle and they settled in Cedarburg in 1955. There they raised children Mike, Terri, Jim, Donna & Dave and led a life filled with fun loving friends, golf, art, card playing, fish fries, games, puzzles, sand-casting, cribbage, vacations at the lake, rock coloring & local sporting events. Marie welcomed her children's partners Barb, Al Oppenheim, Karen Godfrey, Kevin Taylor & Karen and was the best Grandma to Michelle Taylor (Joe Taraboi), Courtney Slagle (Dan Gloudemans), Sarah Oppenheim (Rob Ganister), Nikki Slagle (John Donnelly), Bryan Taylor (Beth), Hannah Oppenheim (Kel Jackson), Leo & Isaac Slagle. She baked them tins of cookies (always with a hidden $20) and danced a polka at each of their weddings. Great grandchildren Aidan, Ellis, Amelia, Finley, Teddy, Jonathon, Taylor, Regan, Jordan & a baby girl on the way followed to cover her refrigerator with photos of smiling babies. Marie belonged to multiple golf leagues and played competitively well into her 80's. She volunteered for over 30 years at Family Sharing in Ozaukee County. A celebration of her amazing life will be held on 4/21/2018 - her 90th birthday.
