My mom, Gloria Worden was a friend of Pat's. She is beyond sad at her passing. They just spoke a week before and over the last few months had received many postcards from Pat. They are now her treasured gifts. Thanks for making my mom's world brighter because of you.

Dear Mom,
I have spent the last two weeks cleaning up your many mementos of dear friends, classes, kid's letters and your own writings. They will be saved and treasured. Your funeral was not that heavy and oppressive after all, the day was sunny, Father Hicks lightened it up and for me I reconnected with dear ones I left behind when I moved to California. Who am I going to send my writings to now? Your love was as deep as any I have ever known. Thanks for teaching me to love without question, be thankful everyday for the gifts God has given me and bringing my some amazing brothers and sister.
Love, Laurie

Dear Buzz, Laura, Bob, and Mary,
Pat Sawyer just wrote me of your mothers passing away. Your mother was a remarkable person, who had a remarkable way of making people feel they were extraordinary special, unique, talented or gifted. One always "sparkled" brighter when they left her presence. I am permanently changed because I knew her..."and because I knew [her], I have been changed for good." I am grateful that God led her into our families life and I will always cherish her words spoken over me.

My condolences to all of Pat's kids, grandkids, and extended family and friends. As Bob's Mom, I got to know her over the years and I was fortunate to spend some holidays with her, too. She was lovely. Simply lovely. I'll miss her twinkle and her kind spirit; yet, I know they live on in Bob - and likely in the rest of her clan, too.

Pat's spirit was effervescent and her smile would light up any room. She always made me feel like I was a better person than I am, and I miss her more than words can tell.
Within the confines of her health and loss of hearing she tried her best to find the best in each of us and make us feel good.

I was fortunate to have a mother who was a remarkable person by any measure. I had a fantastic childhood and have been given so many good examples about living that even my grieving has an element of joy to it. Thanks, Mom! I will continue talking to you and will surely miss hearing your responses out loud.
