Moshe Amedeo King
Moshe Amedeo King, 41, of Willits, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. An artist, computer animator, unicycle enthusiast and performer, Moshe was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on May 17, 1971. He grew up in Jerusalem, Israel, and moved to Willits in 1984.
In 1989, as result of participation in the national Super Quest competition for innovative computer uses, Moshe was selected to travel to Cornell University, where he was given month-long access to the university's supercomputer to calculate the stabilizing effects of a gyroscope on a trimaran sailboat. He later joined the U.S. Navy, where he specialized in aviation electronics.
Moshe also was a treasured member of a Willits-area computer group that created games, software and a VR lab. But for those who knew him, Moshe's most important accomplishments were his unfailing kindness and his vivacious, playful spirit.
Moshe was preceded in death by his father, artist Reuben King. He is survived by his family: Eva Strauss-Rosen/Stephen Somerstein, Aaron Ash Rosen and Keith T. Rosen. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew him.
Services, officiated by Rabbi Gershon Winkler, were held in the Jewish section of Little Lake Cemetery on August 31. The family extends thanks for the sincere support of the community.

The Moshe King Memorial fund will go towards establishing an event for people who share Moshe's love for improving the future of humanity by solving large-scale problems with ingenuity. It will promote emerging technologies and advancing ideas, as well as a retrospective art show of Moshe's work.
