Wayne Wilson Obituary

Wilson, Wayne C. 'Speed' Bay City, Michigan Mr. Wilson, age 68 years, passed away March 5, 2004 at Bay Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bay City on December 21, 1935 to the late Richard and Virginia (Krause) Wilson. He graduated from Bay City Central High School and went on to earn a Masters degree from Central Michigan University, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He taught and coached at many schools in the area, including Cass City, Bay City Central, Garber High School and was principal at Bangor Junior High. He then taught at Davenport University in Midland. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. On August 17, 1957 he married the former Mary E. Baker and she survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Lisa (Tom) Fluder of Waterford and 2 grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Fluder, as well as a brother-in-law, Robert (Emilie) Baker of Bay City and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Baker of Cass City, and his nieces & nephews: Jill (Harry) Capps, Robert Baker, II, Jim (Stephanie) Baker, Ruth (Randy) Ramsey. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Helen Baker, his father-in-law, Edward Baker and a brother-in-law, James Baker. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. William T. Hennessy officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church. Penzien - Steele Funeral Home 608 N. Madison Avenue Bay City, Michigan

I will always remember "Speed" Wilson as a very kind and cheerful human being. I knew him since my days at Bay City Central High School, when I was a cheerleader and he was a football coach. He respected and appreciated the cheerleaders, and I appreciated that. Thank you, Speed for just being you. Your smile and sense of humor will be missed.
