Jimmy M. Richard

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jimmy Mark Richard, affectionately known as "Jimmy the Plumber" or "Fish Bite Richard", of Dulac, Louisiana. He passed peacefully on August 20, 2025, in the quiet way he lived - like the stillness of an early morning fishing trip. Born on February 19, 1946, to Gussie and Nora Richard, Jimmy was a man of simple values, steady conviction, and a deep love for God and life on the water. As master fisherman, he believed the best stories came from a rod the water and good company. In retirement, he found joy renting his Fish Bite Camp in Dulac, where he shared his love of fishing with others from all over the country. He knew every fishing hole for miles, and every trip was an opportunity to teach, connect, and bring peace to others in the world according to Jimmy. He is survived by the love of life of 28 years, Margie Falgout; mother of his children, Patricia Richard; children, Lynette Williams (Gerard "Gee"), Stacy Boudreaux (Tommy), Rebecca Prince (Shannon), and Jeffrey Falgout; close cousins, Victor "Doobie" Arceneaux and Russell Prejean; grandchildren, Jason Vance (Chelsie) , Gabrielle (James), Tori (Guy), Dylan (Sunni), Nicholas, Dalton, Jackson, Addison, and Avayen; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Eloise, Theodore, and Tate; twin sister, Janice Simar (Ronnie); and sister, Geraldine Link (Ronnie). He was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and Nora Richard, brothers, Oran and Louis Richard; and granddaughter, Caroline Prince. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Samart Funeral Home (4511 West Park Ave, Gray) from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm, with Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Holy Family Church (6641 Grand Caillou Rd, Dulac) from 8:00 am until service time. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery (2085 St. Mary St, Thibodaux) at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Church in his name.
