Our sincere condolences to the entire Ablah family. We have very fond memories of Don from the occasions that we visited Wichita to gather with Rachelle and Al and the rest of the delightful Ablah family. Don was elegant, refined and had a kind, approachable and graceful presence. With sympathy and love to each of you.

Uncle Don and Aunt Faith were very important to the Salem kids. Also to their father, Victor. Once, a long long time ago, he heard I wanted to open my own cafe. He took me to lunch and explained that only very rarely were restaurants successful and that he saw this all the time in his business. I am so grateful for his kind advice.

Don would just show up in my life sometimes to see how I was doing. No agenda except to see how my life was going. He was one of my father´s dearest friends and a very important figure in my life. Don will be missed. I hope even just a little of Don´s generosity and loving kindness has rubbed off on me in this life. Don Ablah made the world a better place for us all.

I have known Don for over 35 years, and am very sorry to learn of his passing. I was with the Wichita Public Schools since the mid-80´s, and worked with Don on various land acquisitions as we built new school facilities which were the result of two successful bond issues. Don was a true gentleman and friend.

Faith and Family,
Don was as fine a gentleman as I have ever known...The quick, genuine smile, the quiet wisdom and dignity, the commitment to live his life with purpose, and making lasting, positive impact in the lives of so many, set the standard for us all to live up to. I considered him a great, good friend, and feel blessed to have known him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Rachelle, Faith, Leigh Ann, Craig and Christian~ There was no better man than your father. Always kind, sincere, genuine and generous with his time and talent. He truly was one of the kindest man I knew, always had a genuine interest in everyone he met, a good listener and probably the best dressed man in Wichita. My mother adored Don and my Dad admired and respected him, as we were all honored to know him. Wishing you all peace and deepest sympathy- I know you will miss the twinkle in his eyes and his warm smile. Wichita lost a legend this week.
