Dorothy Main Obituary

EL DORADO - Main, Dorothy "Dort" Ann Busby, 84, passed away March 9, 2014, and will be remembered for her love of art, storytelling and friendship. She was born June 21, 1929, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Charles and Agnes Seeman Busby. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sam and Al. Dort graduated from Kansas State University, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. There she met Max G. Main, an engineering major who she married in 1950. In 1956 they moved to El Dorado. After Max passed away unexpectedly in 1981, Dort became a businesswoman, running AMA Electric Co., Inc., successfully until she later sold it. After her retirement, she moved part-time to Prescott, Ariz., for 14 years, where she enjoyed many activities and, most of all, precious friendships. Funeral services for Dort will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Trinity Episcopal Church in El Dorado. Dort is survived by daughter, Jennifer Callaway and her husband, Dave, of El Dorado; granddaughters, Kristin Baker of Wichita and Kelsey Sundgren (husband, Jeremy) of El Dorado; and great-granddaughters, Ruby and Violet Baker. Memorial to Coutts Museum of Art, 110 N. Main, El Dorado, KS 67042
