Janet Powers Obituary

Powers, Janet 95, passed away at her home in Lake Ozark, Missouri, on September 6, 2015. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on November 21, 1919, and spent most of her childhood and early years in Great Bend, Kansas. She later moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she met and married her husband, Dr. Kenneth D. Powers. They were married June 30 , 1960. While they resided mainly in Wichita, they also spent as much time as possible at their beloved home in Lake Ozark, Missouri, where their favorite pastime was being on the lake on their cruiser, the "MeeMaw". She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Roy and Anna Catherine Brown, and her husband, Dr. Kenneth D. Powers. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hackney; granddaughter, Shari ( Bobby) Tompkins; grandson, Mickey (Heather) Clayton; great-grandson, Cooper Clayton; great-granddaugther, Carson Clayton. Private services and interment will be at Lakeview Chapel and Mausoleum in Wichita, Kansas.
