I was saddened to hear of the passing of Alan Kidd. He and Bette were great friends of my parents, John and Norma Lehman, and they were a very happy part of my childhood in Kansas City. I always will remember Alan's kindness and his supreme patience. My wise father asked Alan to teach me to drive, and finally, through the support of Alan's calm and kind approach, I mastered the manual 'stick'shift. I never will forget what a great teacher he was! I am grateful for the great memories of our families together. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Bette and to all the Kidd family.

Alan was a good friend and an even better person. He taught me to love flying as he did. We spent many hours together either in an airplane or talking of being in an airplane. I will miss him.
My best wishes to Bette and the family

It was a great pleasure to know Alan. He was a great role model to all that had the opportunity to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Lisa

I'm PROUD to currently serve with Mr. Kidd's son Randy at MCC-Longview....like my father, a WWII Navy veteran, who passed away in 2008, we share a common bond, passed down from our fathers..one of SERVICE, COMMITTMENT TO EXCELLENCE, and DEDICATION and LOYALTY to our families, nation, and those in need. Mr. Kidd deserves ALL recognitions as being a wonderful example, and his legacy continues with his family members.
May you R.I.P, sir...God Bless always,
Mark Johnson, LTC (Ret), Special Forces

I loved to sit with Alan and Listen to his stories about his life and all the things he did. We will truly miss him and his love for life. Our prayers go to Betty and her family at this time of sadness.
