Aloysius Wank Obituary
A stroke has stopped the heart of the Wank/Przybylski families. Aloysius "Bud" Wank, 95, died and was reunited with his wife, Katherine, on Dec. 20, 2004. His death came just five weeks after she died. They had been married 62 years and had lived all but the last seven years in St. Joseph, MO, where he had delivered Wonder Bread throughout the St. Joseph area for 37 years. He was an airplane mechanic in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the focus and spirit of our family. He gave his children and grandchildren a love of fishing and camping and just being together as a family. We should all be so lucky as to leave this life as both he and Katherine did -- with a worn-out body, a heart full of love, and a mind full of memories. He fulfilled his self-designated grandfatherly duties to teach his grandchildren how to drive (before they were 16), how to play poker and how to live with respect for themselves and others. He was involved in all aspects of their development and together with his wife shared their every success and reminded them how life was in the "good old days when he was a boy." He especially loved crappie and ice fishing, video poker at the riverboats, weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks, and playing solitaire with his wife on the computer. He was known as "Grandpa" to all and we will forever feel his presence and spirit with us. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Przybylski and husband, Walt; his son, Larry Wank and wife, Laura; his grandchildren include Paul Przybylski and wife, Tracy, and children, Carter and Caitlin, David Przybylski and wife, Mieke, and daughter, Anna Marie; Laura Przybylski and fiance, Matthew Devereux and Katie Przybylski; his son's children are Patrick, Andrew and Christopher Wank. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Bauman. A private family funeral Mass will be held at Cure of Ars Parish, Leawood, KS. Please join us in honoring our father by enjoying the spirit of this holiday season with family or friends and, if you wish, donation to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania, KCMO 64105.
