1930 - 2015

David Carl Kinnaird, Sr., 84, Prairie Village, Kan., passed away May 9, 2015, surrounded by his family at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Rd. Prairie Village. Entombment will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. Ann Catholic Church Building Fund. David was born in Armourdale, Kan., July 27, 1930, to Hazel and Charlie Kinnaird. He graduated from Argentine High School in 1948, and enjoyed taking many courses from JCCC over the years. David served as a signal man in the Navy during the Korean War for four years on the ship USS Furse DDR 882 Destroyer. He was a brakeman for the Milwaukee Rail Road for eight years, and was employed as a postal clerk for 36 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Ann Knights of Columbus. David is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary of 47 years, and two children, son, David Kinnaird, Jr. and daughter, Sheryl (Larry) Poague, and three grandchildren, Deirdre, Hailey, and Tyler. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles and James Kinnaird, sisters, Dolly Hickerson, Irene Gross, and Mary Ann Kinnaird. David was a loving husband, father, and grandpa and will be greatly missed.
