JIMMY POWERS Obituary

Jimmy Powers, 42, of Omaha, NE passed away September 9, 2013. Jimmy was born in Tarrytown, NY on March 4, 1971. He graduated from Cure of Ars Grade School, Rockhurst High School, and University of Kansas. He loved traveling, the outdoors, and sharing his passions with his children. Jimmy is survived by his parents, Dolly and Jim Powers; his children, Grace, Flynn, and Reef Powers; siblings, Mike Powers, Katie and Brian Schmitt, Kevin and Sally Powers, Tim and Laura Powers, and Bess Powers; and five nephews and two nieces. Mass is at Church of the Nativity (3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS 66209) at 9:30am Saturday, September 14, 2013 followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Arr.: Joseph A. Dear Powers Family. I'm shocked and saddened to read about Jimmy's passing. I have such fond memories of Mike's older brother. Jimmy was one of the few "cool" older brothers at Cure. Wishing you all peace and strength during this difficult time.

I am so saddened to hear the loss of such a great man, Jimmy. Although it has been many years since I have seen Jimmy, I always remember him with a smile on his face and a kayak on the top of his car. I always remember the Powers being such a tight niche family, and remember fond days of Grade school and high school. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Losing a brother and a son at such a young age is truly a difficult thing to get through. God bless you all.
