Joseph Tomac Obituary

Joseph F. Tomac, 84, of Kansas City North, passed away December 26, 2008. Joseph was an Army veteran of WWII and was a member of Bennett and Dennis Herrick Memorial American Legion Post 626. He was employed by General Motors from 1949-1980 and was a member of U.A.W. Local 31. After retirement, his hobbies included arts and seashell crafts; which he and Gracie sold at many craft fairs throughout the country. Joseph was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Gary Dunlap and brothers, Peter, Eddie and Tony Tomac. Survivors include his wife, Zara Gracie Tomac and son, Joe and wife, Mary Tomac. Surviving grandchildren are Gary's children, Justin and Jared Dunlap and Joe and Mary's children, Tanner, Lance, Joey and Morgan (Grandpa's baby) Tomac and brothers, William and wife, Jessie Tomac and John and wife, Nora Tomac. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wed., Dec. 31, 2008 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 3800 NE Parvin Rd, Kansas City, MO. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 6- 8 p.m. Tues., Dec. 30 at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St., Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
