MARK CAHILL Obituary

Mark Cahill, 60, of Shawnee, KS, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side, on Tues- day, April 28, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Friday at the church where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hoops 4 Hope, 14003 W. 141st Pl., Olathe, KS 66062. Mark was born March 20, 1955 in Lynn, MA to John and Margaret Archung Cahill and spent his child- hood in Massachusetts, Venezuela, Florida, and Pennsylvania before the family moved to Johnson County in 1969. He started as an apprentice plumber for Fred Pflumm Plumbing and later worked as a construction supervisor for Lambie-Geer Homes and Woodbridge Homes. Mark was an incurable sports fan. He was active in GABL, serving first as a youth coach and administrator. His dedication to youth sports led him to later become a high school football and basketball referee. He formed some of the deepest friendships of his life with his fellow referees. Earlier this month, he was inducted into the GABL Court of Honor. He was a loyal fan of the Royals and the Jayhawks. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cahill, of the home; a son, Brett Cahill, Shawnee, KS; a daughter, Lauren (Bryce) Herbster, Shawnee, KS; a grandson, Maxwell. Siblings, twin sister, Margaret (Duane) Mon-tana, Houston, TX, Tom (Karin) Cahill, Prescott, AZ, Matt (Liz) Cahill, Lenexa, KS, Andrea Cahill, Overland Park, KS, and Dan (Tina) Cahill, Kansas City, KS. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Joaquina Baranda and her team at the KU Cancer Cen- ter for their kindness and compas- sion. Condolences may be expressed at www.AmosFamily.com The Amos Family Funeral Home, Crematory, Chapels. 913-631-5566 amosfamily.com
