RALPH C. HOOK Jr.

1923 - 2014

Ralph C Hook Jr. died at his home in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 18, 2014 at age 89. Ralph was born May 2, 1923 and was raised on the Hook Dairy Farm five miles southwest of Lee's Summit. Ralph attended Lee's Summit High where he excelled in classes and in football. He received his MA & MS degrees from the University of Missouri and a PHD from the University of Texas. During World War II he served as a Field Artillery Officer and was an Artillery Spotter Pilot. Ralph had a distinguished career as an educator. In 1968 he was appointed Dean of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Hawaii and spent the rest of his career at the university. He served as Commandant of the US Army Reserve School (Pacific) from 1974- 1977. Ralph is survived by his wife Joyce & Sons Clifford & John Hook. Burial will be in the family plot at the Lee's Summit, Cemetery. Ralphs brothers Oliver, James, Harold and wives will be at the Langsford Funeral Home June 7, from 3-5 p.m. to visit with friends who wish to pay their respects.
