Richard Hadel Obituary

Richard Joseph Hadel, 39, Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, August 13, 2004, leaving loving family and friends. Rick was employed as a Flight Attendant from 19861994. Later, he attended New York University and then obtained his degree in the art of French Cuisine from the France Culinary Institute in New York City. Rick's affinity towards his family brought him back to Kansas City in 2000, where he continued to foster his lifelong relationships with family and friends. Rick spent most of his time traveling extensively throughout the world. He enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with his precious pets Pearl and Jethro. Pearly passed away in the early hours of the same morning as Richard. Survivors include his loving partner Al-Karim Ramji and Jethro; his beloved parents, William J. and Barbara Hadel; and nine adoring siblings, William Jr., John, Mary, Teresa, Chris, Garreth Hippe, Julie, Morgan Hippe, and Andrea, all from Kansas City. Richard also had four nieces and seven nephews who deeply loved their uncle. Richard was preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Teresa Marie Hadel. Visitation services will be held from 58 p.m. Monday, August 16 at McGilley State Line Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jesuit Mission or the National AIDS Foundation. Rick will always be loved, remembered, and greatly missed. (Arr. I have many fond memories of working with Rick at Hugo's. I especially remember a large party we worked together in the banquet room that happened to take place on my birthday. It was a rehersal dinner and we thought it would never end. Rick was a very handsome man with perfect manners. I am sorry to hear that he died at such a young age.
