ROBERT GORE Obituary

12/15/1950 to 3/26/2014 Bob, 63, slipped from the arms of those who loved him most into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. He was surrounded by his daughters, the five greatest loves of his life. The angels are rejoicing in Heaven as another angel has come home. Bob was a loving, patient man with a pure heart made of gold. He was the proud father of his five girls, Michelle Klein and husband LJ of Overland Park, KS, Mindy Gore of KC, Michaela Gore and partner JJ King of Blue Springs, Andrea Gore and fiance, Mike Thompson, of Oak Grove, MO, Amanda Bosley and husband Aaron of Levasy, MO. He also leaves behind his siblings, Howard Gore, Jr., Linda Raffurty, Debbie Johnson and Mike Gore; 15 grandchildren; long time friend, Judy Horne, the girls' mother, Dorothy Conard and numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends and in-laws. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, Howard Leroy and Virginia (Arnold) Gore, father- in-law, Marvin Engleman, mother-in- law, Mary Engleman; brothers, Charlie Jackson and Wayne Jackson. He retired from the KC Water Department as a foreman where he made numerous friends for life. Bob's greatest pleasure was being a coach for his girls' SSJAA softball teams. Bob became a second dad to many of the girls on his teams through the years. His daughters still receive calls from girls on his teams that tell how much Bob's support and caring spirit meant to them. We are just now finding out some of the ways Bob touched young peoples lives and motivated them to achieve success as adults. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by funeral services at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Evangel Temple, 1414 E. 103rd St., Kansas City, MO 64131. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Arr.: Park Lawn Funeral Home, (816) 523-1234.

So very sorry to read of Bob's passing. For many years I was Bob's "coach" as we played together on the Blenheim softball team. Always a gentle spirit. Always a pleasure to run into him.

Mindy, Michelle and family,
I'm so sorry for your huge loss, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time. Your dad was such a kind-hearted, caring and funny man that everyone in our neighborhood loved. Dads never leave their daughters, I know that from experience and they make the best guardian angels to always look over you, just as they did when they were here on earth. He'll always be in your hearts and minds so I hope you will take comfort in that thought. God bless you all.
