Rose Wilson Obituary

Rose "Ann" Wilson, 78, Edgerton, KS, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 3, 2004. She was born in Baldwin, KS, on May 8, 1926. She moved to Edgerton in 1976 from Lenexa. She spent the majority of her life in the Overland Park/Lenexa/Gardner area. She married Royl L. "Ken" Wilson on July 1, 1942, in Olathe. They were together 60 years until Ken passed away in 2002. Her career was in insurance, and she was vice president and secretary of the Corporation. She retired from Patron's Insurance Co. in Olathe in 1988, the same year she was honored by the Independent Insurance Agents of Kansas with the Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding work in underwriting. She attended the Edgerton United Methodist Church. During her retirement, she enjoyed reading, canning, and spending time enjoying nature while sitting on her deck. She spent her life devoted to family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Archie C. and Leona Edith Eisele Niccum. Ann is survived by her children Robert K. Wilson and wife Virginia, Spring, TX, Teresa L. Hudspeth and husband Jim, Edgerton, KS, Jeff A. Wilson, Wrentham, MA, and daughter-in-law Cynthia Wilson, Mendon, MA; brother Archie C. Niccum and wife Linda, Edgerton, KS; sister Minnie B. Adams, Baldwin City, KS; eight grandchildren, Tara Blackwell and husband Jim, Norman, OK, Todd Wilson and wife Patsy, Houston, TX, Robert Kinnick and Michele Canada, Olathe, KS, Jessica Wilson and Jamie Wilson, Mendon, MA, Lisa Hudspeth, Hoisington, KS, Robert Hudspeth and wife Gretchen, Gardner, KS, Brittney Hudspeth, Overland Park, KS; six great-grandchildren, Allie and Dalton Blackwell, Abby and Emily Wilson, and Colin and Kennedy Kinnick. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 7 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS. Burial Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS. Memorials to the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home, PO Box 192, Gardner, KS, 66030, 913-856-7111.
