Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home; burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Weston, MO. A descendent of Platte County Scottish-Irish settlers, she was born on July 14, 1914, near Camden Point, MO, the daughter of Jesse Price Lindsey and Nannie B. Nower Lindsey. Having started country school at the age of five, she graduated at age 16 from West Platte High School, Weston, MO, class of 1931. She worked at the Weston Post Office, as City Clerk of Weston, as Platte County Democratic Election judge, and retired from civil service with the U.S. Army Strategic Communications Command at Fort Leavenworth, KS, and retired again with the American Red Cross in Kansas City, MO. She was a member of Christian Women's Fellowship, Weston Garden Club, Weston Friendly Neighbors, 8 & 40, Order of The White Shrine of Jerusalem, AARP, NARFE, a lifelong member of the Weston Christian Church, a 50+ year member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, and current President and 50+ year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #501, and many other service and volunteer organizations. On Jan. 1, 1938, she married George H. Weigman, Sr. Mr. Weigman died Sept. 1, 1976. She was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, Bessie Mae Lindsey Blankenship, Walter Clay Lindsey, Alvey Percy Lindsey, Phoebe Marie Lindsey Humes, and grandson, John Taylor Stout. She is survived by son, George H. Weigman, Jr., Reedsport, OR; daughters, Sarah Jane Weigman Lowe, Merced, CA, and Carolyn Ann Weigman Jordan, Weston, MO; two grandsons; and one granddaughter in California; one granddaughter in Oregon. Local granddaughters are Sarah Louise Stout, Sheila Marie Jones Lewis & husband, Jay Lewis, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Ember Nicole Lewis, all of Gladstone. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Elmer B. and Velva A. Lindsey of Weston, sister-in-law, Beverly Lindsey, Littleton, CO, and first cousin, Ruth Amelia Maasen and her husband, John, Raytown, MO, as well as an extended family of stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, distant cousins and their families. She had made her home for the past three years with her daughter and sonin-law, Carolyn (Tug) and John D. Jordan on a farm at Bear Creek Equine Rescue & Sanctuary, Weston. Having inherited and passed on a great love of horses & mules, she loved all of the rescued animals and had a special, long-time, mutual affection with O'Malley, a Belgian draft mule rescued nearly 25 years ago, that she would hug and feed carrots to almost daily from her deck. A person of exceptional character and selfless giving, she was a dedicated patriot, and spent her life being involved in community projects that benefited others. For many years she was the Poppy Lady and the person that made certain that the U.S. Veterans in Platte County were honored with American Flags on their graves for Memorial Day. In that spirit, memorials in her name are suggested to the Disabled Veterans of America or the American Red Cross.

Dear Tug, Sheila, Sara and Uncle El, My husband Tom and our boys Wade and Todd and families send you our Love and Prayers as each of us celebrate the life of your Mother, Grand Mother & Sister and our Aunt. Aunt Dink and I have always had a special bond, as you Tug, your Mom and I shared a bedroom here in California when you lived with us so many years ago. Then I joined Eastern Star and as the years went on Aunt Dink and I shared our Love for that Order and she was an inspiration to me as she gave so many years of service to her chapter. My Mom (Bessie) and I were so happy to be with her for her Installation as Worthy Matron and in 1997 when I became Worthy Grand Matron here in California she was here with me to share that special moment. We are so sorry we can not be with you today, but #3 Grand Son is graduating from High School, and we are so proud of him, we want to share in his new beginnings. We thank each one of you and praise you for the care and love you have given to your Mom these past years. GOD provides Angels among us and Angels to watch over us! Love Tom, Sue & Boys

Dear Tug, Sheila, Sarah & Ember,

I have such fond memories of your Mother & Grandmother & Great Grandmother. I first met her when I was about 12 years old and always knew I was welcome at her home. She was always very gracious to me (even when Tug & I were in trouble!!). Later, when I started working at Fort Leavenworth, she hauled me to work when my car wouldn't pass the inspection to get tags.

She was always so proud of you all and never missed an opportunity to brag about you & your accomplishments.

I know she will be missed.

Love,

AL
