Linda Lang Obituary

Linda June Granskog Lang
Born: June 24, 1944
Died: January 19, 2024
Linda June Granskog Lang, 79, of Tallahassee, passed away on January 19, 2024.
She was born on June 24, 1944 in Geneva, Illinois to Mabel and Edgar Granskog. She graduated from Batavia High School before marrying Harold J. Berentsen who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Their travels took them all over the United States and they also spent time living in Germany and Guam before she came back to the States. After a brief stay in Pennsylvania, she returned to Hampton, Virginia where she graduated from Hampton Institute. She moved back to Geneva, Illinois where she married Gerald Lang. Together, they owned the Hand, Heart and Mind Studio in Geneva where she was able to showcase and sell her weavings. Linda was a talented artist, specializing in large fiber art weavings featuring notable women. She was an avid baker and gardener and will long be remembered for her homemade breads and beautiful gardens.
In 2013, Linda relocated to Tallahassee, Florida where she enjoyed reading and playing Scrabble. She is survived by her two sons Harold Andrew Berentsen (Rebecca) and Jeremy Oscar Lang (Nancy), her two grandchildren Annika Berentsen and Otto Lang, her brother David Granskog (Heidi) and their six children - David (Sarah), Sarah (Giovanni), Reuben (Hannah), Martha (Dominic), Hannah, and Carl.
There will be a memorial service in Geneva, Illinois at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to Big Bend Hospice at 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308 in recognition of their outstanding care and compassion. Lifesong (lifesongfunerals.com or 850/765-3190) is assisting the family with arrangements.

I´d like to share my deepest condolences to Linda´s family. Linda became a good friend while I was living in Geneva. She was a friend and a sister. I have one of her beautiful weavings Full Moon over Fox River. We lost touch but I will always remember her as a kind And brilliant soul. Rest in peace.
