Daryl L. Moravec
Daryl Moravec, 89 of Kearney, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will be held at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Kearney Public Library Foundation or to Kearney Area Animal Shelter. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
Daryl L. Moravec was born October 15, 1934 in Cotesfield, Nebraska to William and Ethel (Bennett) Moravec. He attended Scotia High School, graduating with the class of 1952. On March 20, 1955, he was united in marriage to Gayle Portis in North Loup, NE. The couple made their home in Kearney where Daryl worked as an electrical supply salesman, retiring with Kearney Winlectric Co.
Daryl enjoyed reading, hunting and was certified as a master gardener.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathy (Ken) Oertle of Kearney and Stacy (Ron) Stohlmann of Omaha; grandsons, Jacob Oertle and fiancé, Macie Wippel and Jamieson Oertle; sister, Phyllis Cargill of Ord; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gayle Moravec; brother, Melvin Moravec; and brother-in-law, Keith Cargill.

Please accept my condolences for your loss, also belate for the passing of your Mom earlier this year.
I keep both your parents in good memory, we (Dad and I) visited them on our way to Florida (when Dad moved to Florida in July of 2016).
