Frankie Linden Obituary

Pleasanton resident, 84

BROKEN BOW - Frankie E. Linden, 84, of Pleasanton died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasanton Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Dave Oldham officiating. Burial will be at Mason City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and before services Saturday at the church.

He was born July 9, 1926, to Frank and Nora (Bender) Linden at their home north of Pleasanton.

On Feb. 14, 1948, he married Lucille Cherry in Loup City.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Steve and his fiancée, Faylin Henricksen, of Kearney and Terry Linden and his wife, Cheryl, of Pleasanton; grandchildren, Kevin Linden and his wife, Rikki, and great-grandsons, Connor and Tanner, of Overland Park, Kan., Todd Linden and his wife, Sarah, of Lincoln, Christa Anderson and her husband, Tyler, and Jennifer Linden, all of Kearney, and Kayla Linden of Pleasanton; stepgrandaughter, Lisa Christy of Cincinnati; sister-in-law, Sadie Linden of Grand Island; and brother-in-law, Fred Hansen of Litchfield.

He grew up on the family farm and attended country schools then attended Litchfield High School until he returned home to work on the family farm.

Frankie farmed his entire life north of Pleasanton. He also drove the Pleasanton school bus for more than 20 years.

He was a member of the South Loup Community Church and was saved by Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He was called Mr. Fixit by the neighbors and enjoyed visiting and joking around with friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved singing and playing his harmonica.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Alvie Linden; and sisters, Ruby Smith and Berniece Hansen.

Memorials are suggested to the Pleasanton Fire Department and Rescue Unit or the Pleasanton Evangelical Free Church.
