He attended Shelton Public School from kindergarten through 12th grade. He was a 1986 graduate and furthered his education at Kearney State College and Hastings Community College where he earned two degrees in architecture.

Shane's love for cars started at an early age and continued throughout his life. In his mind he could fix or build any car, as he did with his own racecars. That's when he founded Rocket Science Racing. He spent weekends in the summer at Kearney Raceway Park along with his uncle, John Gibreal.

He loved and took care of his family and was very excited about his new granddaughter. He was always there to help everyone. He had a love for music of all kinds and knew most of the words. Shane enjoyed cooking and was so excited when Bob, Joe and he could use the smoker that he designed.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Shawn; and grandparents, Glen J. Garrett and Patricia Ostrom, Richard Gibreal Sr. and Orie Gibreal, George Glen and Irene (Marks) Garrett and Charles and Audrey (Sharpe) Peak.

Sad day when we heard the news that you have left us. However, we know that you are safe and in God's hands and it is he, who will lead you to that next car that wants to grow up and be a race car. Prayers to all as we process through this loss of a very inspirational and unselfish individual known as 'Shane' to the rest of us.
