June Boesel Obituary

With her daughters by her side, June Dollie (Felcher) Boesel, 88, whispered "Wow" as Jesus called her home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. She knew she was ready to go. Days earlier she mentioned praying for an "off" switch, longing for the rest and peace she eventually received in His arms. June was born on June 9, 1937 to Earl and Bessie (Reichelt) Felcher in Sioux Falls. She was raised in a bulging, boisterous, and close-knit household with four brothers -- Larry, Myron, Ron, and Gene and four sisters -- Carlene, Dora, Charlotte, and Trudy. At the tender age of 16, June was swept away from all the clamor by the love of her life; Warren Dean Boesel. They were wed on September 19, 1953. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage. June was a strong influence as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She created a stable home for her daughters -- full of honor, respect, laughter and comfort. No one ever felt unwelcome in the Boesel household. She was always quick to help her children with a project, or her grandchildren with a soothing song. She possessed a quiet peace that drew others to her. And yet, her quick wit and ability to discern tomfoolery could catch you by surprise if you were out of line. June liked getting her hands dirty in the garden. She admired the shape and color of foliage and flowers. She loved being outdoors. She could spend hours on her deck watching birds at the feeder and squirrels chasing each other around the yard. In their earlier years, you could find the Boesel family at a lake or campground; filling the days with fishing, swimming, sunbathing, eating barbeque or cooking s'mores over a campfire. In her later years, June still centered her life around family. She delighted in the weekly Friday night family dinners, the weekly Wednesday morning breakfasts with friends and family, and the many celebrations over holidays and events that brought folks together for food and fellowship. In contrast, she also cherished her quiet mornings reading her Bible or listening to inspirational messages. And, on most evenings, you could find her watching a television show from the Hallmark Channel. June will be remembered with love and laughter by her daughters Cindy (Larry) Miller and Julie (Robert) Westendorf; her grandchildren Amie, Matthew, Marie, David, Kira (Ben) and Kirsten (Stephen), and great grandchildren; Harper, Hattie and Christian, her brother Ron (Jeanette) Felcher, sister Dora Haddox and the many other lives she touched over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Boesel, daughter Penny Schwartzle, granddaughter Chrystal Leigh Craft, brothers Larry, Myron, and Gene and sisters Carlene (Davis), Charlotte (Biesenberger), and Trudy (Bierle). A Celebration of her Life Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, August 23rd from 2:00 to 3:30PM, with a prayer service at 3:30 PM. Yesterday

My condolences to all of the family....I haven't seen June in awhile. She was such a sweetheart. Remember all those fun times you had with her and the memories you all shared. I'm sure there were many. I know Sharon loves all the times she was able to visit with her when she made trips out to California. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Doris (Sioux Falls)
