(73), formerly of Staffordsville, KY, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022 at Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY.
David is survived by Terri LeMaster, daughter Hope LeMaster (Josh Robinson), step-daughter Heather Harris (Derrick Harris), daughters Tammy L. Jones (Christopher Jones) and Judge Shannon L. Meyer, brothers Frank LeMaster and John LeMaster (Holly LeMaster), sister Martha May, and beloved brother-in-law and friend Alvin Ramey. David is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
David was preceded in death by his father and mother Payne and Dosha LeMaster, brothers Doug LeMaster and Jerry LeMaster and his beloved sister Mary Ramey.
David graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky. He continued his education at the University of Kentucky College of Law. David worked as an attorney in Eastern Kentucky. He was a fierce and loyal advocate for his clients. David also served his community as state senator.
David was a veracious reader and lifelong scholar. He could quote most lines of Shakespeare or the Bible with ease. David loved being in nature and playing bluegrass music.
When faced with the grim prognosis of a terminal illness, David proclaimed, "I've lived a good life!" While we are filled with immeasurable sorrow due to his passing, we are grateful to have had the privilege of knowing and loving David.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held on May 28, 2022 at Floral Hills Funeral Home at 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, Kentucky 41015. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00PM and services will begin at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth. The compassionate doctors and nurses at Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth took tremendous care of David. His final days were filled with love, peace and comfort.
