TO PAPAW,

PAPAW YOU WERE A TRULY GREAT MAN. YOU TAUGHT ME TO CHERISH THE LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE THAT MOST TAKE FOR GRANTED. YOUR LOVE OF HORSES AND THE OUTDOORS "ECHO'S" THROUGH ME.FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNCANNY TO THE TERM, "ECHO'S" WAS USED TO DESCRIBE PAPAWS LIFE ,AND IT REALLY HIT HOME WITH ME DURING THE EULOGY AT THE FUNERAL. NO MATTER WHAT I DO,HIS "ECHO'S" ARE THERE. SO NOW PAPAW, WHENEVER I WALK THROUGH THE GATES OF KEENELAND, SEE A YOUNG HORSE, CAST A LINE, OR SIT UNDER A HICKORY NUT TREE WAITING FOR A SQUIRREL, IT WILL BE AN "ECHO" OF YOU, FOR THESE ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU TAUGHT ME TO LOVE AND APPRECIATE. I ONLY HOPE I CAN STAY MARRIED FOR 61 YEARS TO LISA, LIKE YOU AND GRANNY, AND WE CAN HAVE CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN LIKE YOU. PAPAW, YOU "ECHO" THROUGH US ALL, AND ALWAYS WILL.

LOVE,

"JASEY"

To my dear family. I just want all of you to know how proud I am to be a part of this loving family. Until I met you guys, I never hugged anyone hello or goodbye, also I never told anyone that I loved them. Your family has taught me that you need to tell someone how much you love them as well as show them. I loved Carl very much, he was a wonderful, caring, loving person, he would give someone the shirt off his back if he knew it would help them. He instilled the values of love, caring and work into everyone he met. I will deeply miss him. Love you all!!

To my family. Guys I want to tell you a story. A great man (when he was a young boy) once said "Papaw... I love every bone in your body!" As you can guess, considering who this great man was (Jason Adams), and his relationship to me (my big brother)... I mocked him, and made fun of him. Not because I thought what he said was lame, but because I wasn't clever enough to think of something so sweet to say. So what does this story mean? Believe it or not, it actually has a point. Unlike the great man, I never told my Papaw how I really felt about him. I wish I had. Sure I told him I loved him, every time I saw him actually, but I now wish that I had turned back around and said “Now Papaw… I really do love you!” I am sure Papaw knew that I loved him, I just wish I had broadcasted it more clearly. So I guess what I am saying is: If you have something to say to someone, say it immediately, don’t hold back, don’t wait until tomorrow, because we are not promised tomorrow.

Granny… I loved Papaw. I loved him with all of my heart, and it kills me that he is gone. But he is with God now. I know you waited almost 5 1/2 years for the day that Papaw would walk again, well the wait is over because he is walking now. He is walking all around God’s house right now, and I know that when we are reunited with him he will come running. He is home. I love you all.

Dear Bradshaw Family: I am so sorry I couldn't come to the visitation or funeral. I wanted so much to see all of you and extend my condolences. As a young girl, I spent many weekends at your home and have such fond memories. You have been in my prayers, may God bless each one of you.
