September 21, 1926 - July 24, 2021
Mt. Vernon, Kentucky - George W. Murphy, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, in Lexington. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Jean Hiatt Murphy. He is survived by their four children, Jane Hrabak (Albert) of Lexington, Jeannie Schneider (Larry) of Huntsville, AL, George Murphy III (Marylou) of Berea, and Amy Murphy McBroom (Clint) of Tallassee, AL. Funeral Service will be Friday, July 30, at 1:00 PM at Dowell & Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Dowell & Martin Funeral Home after 12:00 PM Friday. For the safety of all, especially family who is immunocompromised, masks will be required.
