Kim Baker Obituary

Kim Wayne Baker
February 29, 1964 - September 3, 2021
Versailles, Kentucky - Kim Wayne Baker, 57, husband of Penny Slatten Baker, passed away unexpectedly in Woodford County, Kentucky. Kim was a leap day baby, born February 29, 1964 in Woodford County, Kentucky to Dianna Sue Lancaster Baker. He was a 1982 graduate of Woodford County High School. Kim worked for 36 years at Rand McNally/Quad Graphics as a press operator but his true job that he devoted his life to was farming. He loved to be outdoors, farming, hunting, dove shoots and Polaris RZR trail riding were just a few of his favorite things to do. Kim's true love was his family, he was a devoted husband and father, his love for his sons and spending time with them whether it was for work or play was his greatest joy. Kim always made sure his boys and their friends had plenty of snacks, he never went anywhere without those. He also had a kind and giving heart which, he made apparent by the great lengths he would go to making sure his sons and wife had the best and the most amount of Christmas gifts possible.
Kim will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 35 years, Penny Baker, sons, Justin (Savannah Boyd) Baker, Austin (Colby) Baker, mother, Dianna Baker, brother, Charles William (Candice) Baker, Jr., nephews, Nathan Baker, Corey Baker, special sisters-in-law, Tammie Wilds, April (Willie) Jones, faithful canine companions, Jax and Luna, all of Woodford County; aunt, Rita (Chris) Patrick, cousins, John Patrick, Susan Patrick, all of Gainesville, Florida.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services and burial will be private. Having the honor of serving as pallbearers will be his beloved boys, Justin Baker and Austin Baker, along with Aaron Carmickle, Michael Parker, Jordan Stallard, Andrew Payton, Nick Brown, and Dylan Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff White, Jimbo O'Nan, Nathan Baker, Corey Baker, John Patrick, Willie Jones, and Thomas Carmickle.
To honor Kim's love for farming and helping children the family asks that memorial donations be made in his name to the Woodford County FFA, 180 Frankfort Street, Versailles, KY 40383 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
