Ruby Bishop

BISHOP Ruby Scott Carter, 93, of Georgetown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was the widow of Arville H. Bishop and the daughter of the late John and Pearl Carter. She is survived by two sons, Don Carter Bishop (Linda) of Georgetown, Ky. and Billy Dale Bishop (Carolyn) of Lexington, Ky.; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Bishop (Melanie) and Megann Jones (Mike) of Georgetown, Ky., Melanie Earwood (Jeff) of Vanceburg, Ky., Janette Hansche (Greg) of Richmond, Ky. and Katie Bishop of Nicholasville, Ky.; eight great grandchildren, Mary Harruff of Louisville, Ky., Josh Bishop of Lexington, Ky., Brittany Bishop, Kirsten Jones, Michaela Jones and Alyssa Jones of Georgetown, Ky., Clint Stoneking of Morehead, Ky. and Ty Bishop of Nicholasville, Ky.; one great-great granddaughter, Mila Caldwell of Georgetown, Ky.; and one brother, Frank Carter (Mabel) of Lexington, Ky. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Bishop and two brothers, Stanley (Buck) Carter and Charles (Peewee) Carter. Ruby attended Henry Clay High School and Fugazzi Business College. She was a member of Gardenside Christian Church and Willing Crusaders Sunday School class. Service will be held 12:00 pm Thursday, October 5th, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home Main St., with Ministers Dean Brewer and Charlie Delaney officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105-9959.
