William Mullins Obituary

MULLINS, William Ray, 82, husband of the late Flora Bolling Mullins, father of M. Raynor Mullins, DMD, and father-in-law of Maxine Madritsch Mullins, died Sat., June 12, 2004, at home. Those mourning his death include grandsons Dr. Franklin Mullins, Palo Alto, CA; and Toby Raynor Mullins, Lexington; Mellissa Denice Frantz, Lexington; and nephew David (Sandy) Mullins, Wise, VA. Born April 10, 1922, in Flat Gap, VA, Ray was the third of four sons of the late Delilah Jane and Charlie Orbin Mullins. From 1956-1981, he served Beth-Elkhorn Corporation Coal Mines, a division of Bethlehem Steel, Jenkins, KY, retiring as Superintendent - Industrial Relations. His career began in 1942 with fourteen years of service to Consolidation Coal Co. He was an officer and long-term member of Kiwanis International in Jenkins and a past board member of the Jenkins Clinic and the Elkhorn Country Club. Memorials suggested to the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry scholarship fund or the American Lung Association. No local visitation or services.
