Gary Waggener Obituary

Gary F. Waggener of Halsey, Oregon passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023. He was 74. Gary was born on September 30, 1949 to Francis A. and Margaret Adeline Waggener, of Halsey, OR. Gary was a proud, lifelong resident of Halsey, where he maintained his family's farm following the tragic loss of his parents at a young age. Gary inherited a strong work ethic from his family and family friends in the local area. He initially worked as a welder, transitioned to driving truck, where he hauled fuel for local companies in the area for many years. As he retired, he established ownership of Bond Butte Quarry. He enjoyed spending time with family, a hot cup of coffee with his good friends and neighbors. Gary also had a love for tractors, trucks, cars and hot rods. He also enjoyed attending car shows, traveling, playing pool and playing the tables. Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sherry, son Gary, daughter Leeca, stepchildren Jeff, Sy, Julie, grandson Travis and Aunt Frances. He was preceded in death by his father Francis, mother Margaret Adeline, brothers Albert, and Ron. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 13th from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Harrisburg Christian Church, 601 Smith St, Harrisburg, Or 97446. A viewing will be held at the Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home, 1275 Ivy St #3, Junction City, OR 97448 on Thursday, January 11th from 11 am to 4 pm. A private burial will be held at the Union Point Cemetery in Brownsville, OR.
