Rand W. Wade

SNOW HILL - Mr. Rand Winston Wade Sr., 82, passed away Monday morning, September 12, 2011, at his residence. A native of Greene County, he was born March 12, 1929, the son of Giles Rand Wade and Blanche Sugg Wade. He was the founder of Rand Wade Oil Company, a member of Hull Road OFWB Church, and a Master Mason in Radiance Lodge 132. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Hull Road OFWB Church with the Reverend Leon Grubbs officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wade was preceded in death by a sister, Florine Wade Hardy. His surviving family includes his wife, Carol Pippin Wade of the home; sons, Rand W. Wade, Jr. and wife, Becky and Jeffrey R. Wade and wife, Betty Jo, all of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Beth Wade of Greenville, Giles Wade, Rebecca Wade, and Will Wade, all of Snow Hill; great-granddaughters, Calyn and Mary Faith; his siblings, Hilda Stadiem of Kinston, Maxine Barrow of Goldsboro, Janet Cunningham of LaGrange, Carol Blanche Wainwright and husband, Ralph of Stantonsburg, and Alvin Wade and wife, Janice of Cary; and a special caregiver, B.J. Anglero. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6–8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the home, 980 Thomas Sugg Road, Snow Hill.
