Kyle Shellberg Obituary

Shellberg, Kyle Adam - 32, died suddenly December 5, 2010 while skiing near his home in Golden, Colorado. Kyle leaves behind the loves of his life; his wife Lauren Suzanne and his infant daughter Siri Wren. Other survivors include his mother and father Linda and Jim Shellberg of Chicago, IL; his mother-in-law Jan Corley and husband Tim of Savannah, GA; his father-in-law Dr. J. Michael McCoy and wife Melissa of Knoxville; and his brother-in-law Patrick McCoy also of Knoxville. Kyle grew-up in Chicago where he was an all-state hockey star at Loyola Academy high school. He met his eventual wife Lauren McCoy while in college at Miami University of Ohio. After receiving their degrees at Miami, Kyle and Lauren traveled the globe as 2 inseparable souls daily discovering a multitude of unknown mysteries. After the birth of their child Siri Wren, Kyle earned his RN at Rocky Mountain College of Colorado. At the time of his death, Kyle was a staff nurse at St Joseph's Presbyterian Hospital of Denver. Kyle was an amazing and unique soul with personal qualities for which most people could only wish. He was a friend to everyone and would offer all to any person in need. Kyle will be sorely missed by all that knew him, but most of all by his true soul mate Lauren Suzanne and the love of his life Siri Wren. An outdoor memorial service and celebration of Kyle's life will be held at New Loveland Park in their home town of Golden Colorado. A memorial educational trust has been set-up with SunTrust Bank for his infant daughter Siri Wren Shellberg. Donations can be sent in her name to Dr. J. Michael McCoy, 1815 Greywell Rd, Knoxville, TN, 37922.

December 14, 2010

My husband, Doug and I were so very sorry to hear the news. We never had the pleasure of meeting Kyle. We knew him through his proud mother and saw photos from her trips to Colorado enjoying time shared. The beaming smile that came from Linda whenever she spoke of her son and her new grandchild was priceless. She would touch her heart every time she spoke of them as a gesture of great endearment and unconditional love that no one knows, except a mother for her son.
Linda- Know we are here for you and support you during this time. Life is such a gift.
