Lawrence Hsieh Obituary

HSIEH, LAWRENCE - age 88 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 13, 2007. He was a loving father and devoted grandfather. He was born in China and immigrated to the United States in 1957 where he pursued his love of education by obtaining his Masters Degree from Kansas State University. He retired from TVA after 25 years of service as a Civil Engineer. He continued his interests through publishing papers and extensive travels to China. He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Florence; his five children: Catherine Liu and husband Charles, Clifford Hsieh and wife Ruby, Ruby Yuan and husband Robert, Ruth Young and husband K.C., Clare Hsieh and wife Lisa; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Robert Bowman officiating. A private interment will be at Pleasant Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. www.rosemortuary.com.

Our deepest sympathy to all of the Hsieh family. Lawrence Hsieh was an outstanding member of the community and an example for others to emulate. He will be missed.

Mrs. Hsieh, Catherine, Clifford, Clare, Ruth, Ruby and other family members, please accept my condolences on the death of Mr. Hsieh. I feel fortunate to have known him, and thru him, all of you. You are a very special family and I will always have fond memories of all of you. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
