AUBURN - Mark Alan Freed, 65, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at his home in Auburn, Indiana.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1959, in Warsaw, Indiana, to Rex L. and Darlene B. (Ray) Freed.
Mark was a 1979 graduate of Hamilton High School.
He married Shari L. Fry on July 11, 1981, in Auburn, Indiana.
Mark was a master mechanic for more than 30 years for various business in northeast Indiana.
He was a member of Dayspring Community Church in Auburn.
Mark was known as a prankster. He enjoyed playing cards, board games and dominoes and loved spending lots of time with his grandchildren, and most importantly he loved to help guide his family to Jesus.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Shari L. Freed, of Auburn; mother, Darlene Freed, of Fort Wayne; four sons, Scott T. Freed, of Auburn, Joshua T. and Devin Freed, of Auburn, Nicholas A. and Garrin Freed, of Harlan and Dakota M. and Alicia Freed, of Auburn; 12 grandchildren, Joshua "Levi" Freed, Emmalyn Freed, Logan Freed, Juliet Freed, Emery Freed, Parker Freed, Amelia Freed, Avery Freed, Valiera Freed, Elliot Freed, Harper Freed and Jason Freed; sister, Sherrie Freed, of Montpelier, Ohio; brother-in-law, Bob Oberlin, of Lakeview, Michigan; father-in-law, Jerald Fry, of Garrett; and three brothers-in-law, Paul and Monica Fry, of Garrett, Randy and Diana Fry, of Garrett and Stephen and Kristy Fry, of Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Freed; sister, Rhonda Oberlin; and mother-in-law, Donna Fry.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at Dayspring Community Church, 2305 N. Indiana Ave., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m., on Friday, prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at Christian Union Cemetery in rural Garrett.
Visitation also will be from noon to 2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
Memorials may be directed to Dayspring Community Church, 2305 N. Indiana Ave., Auburn, IN 46706.
