Roger Kuester

Funeral services for Roger L. Kuester age 71 of Wisner, NE will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with interment in the Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Beemer, NE. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting with the arrangements. Roger passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Stanton Health Center. Roger Lee Kuester was born November 19, 1953 in Norfolk, NE to Ewald and Alma (Eckert) Kuester. He was baptized in the hospital and later confirmed on April 30, 1967 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pilger, NE. Roger graduated from Wisner-Pilger High School in 1971 and Northeast Community College in 1973. On June 30, 1973, he was united in marriage to Diane Ott at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Roger farmed north of Pilger raising crops, cattle and hogs until 1982. They moved to California, where Roger attended Mission College in Santa Clara, CA. He worked for Sun Microsystems in Palo Alto, CA and in Broomfield, CO until moving to Wisner, NE in 2003. Roger was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner and served on the Board of Treasury. He enjoyed gardening, and tilling gardens for Wisner area gardeners. Roger also enjoyed following science and politics in books, articles, and on-line. Survivors include- Wife-Diane Kuester of Wisner, NE Brother-Harlan Kuester of Stanton, NE Brothers-in-law- David and Jackie Ott of Swansea, MA Jerry and Helen Ott of Hastings, MN Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. Roger was preceded in death by his parents-Ewald and Alma Kuester, parents-in-law-Ezra and Rosalie Ott, sister-Shirley Whitney, sister-in-law-Doris Kuester and brother-in-law-Mark Whitney.
